I spearheaded the transformation of Rio de Janeiro’s busiest Metro station, Carioca (now branded Estação Farol Carioca), into a dynamic cultural hub and a true public art intervention. Collaborating closely with Santander, MetrôRio, Eletromidia, and Grupo Globo, I served as Creative Director—designing rotating, quarterly exhibitions that spotlighted the city’s diverse neighborhoods and untold stories.
The station’s original zones were reimagined into engaging cultural “pods”: each tied to a barrio of Rio—like Tijuca, Mangueira, or Bangu—and integrated audiovisual archives from TV Globo. Visitors now move through immersive displays featuring historical photos, audio narratives, and video walls illustrating each community's unique social fabric.
Estação Farol Carioca stands as a pioneering model of urban cultural intervention, drawing tens of thousands daily and breathing renewed life into downtown Rio. By launching this ongoing series of site-specific exhibitions, I helped establish the city's most famous subway station as a place of belonging, discovery, and artistic expression.
